Manly Spirits Co. Distillery are producing Hand Sanitiser with Gin Aroma to help with the short supply in the local community.

It started with a fruitless hunt for some hand sanitiser ending with only finding a store selling it for a ridiculous $45 a bottle that prompted Manly Spirits Co. Distillery owner to convert production into making their own for use in their community at a fraction of that price. “Yes, I did make a scene in the pharmacy saying this is price gouging and just plain un-Australian and I wasn’t going to stand for it” said co-owner Vanessa Wilton.

Being a Gin and Whisky distillery with access to high grade alcohol, they got to work on making a Gin Aroma Hand Sanitiser by re-distilling some of their Gin alcohol. “We had to make it smell good and put a smile on your face so we have added some distilled gin botanicals” they said.

They are currently in contact with a number of community organisations and charities who are in desperate need as normal supplies have dried up. While this isn’t Manly Spirits core business, they are among the few businesses who have permits for high grade alcohol, so it only made sense to support the community in this way.

“We knew that providing hand sanitiser for our local community was simply our part to play in this time.”  Said David, co-founder and Head Distiller. “We just want to help in any way we can.”

Their biggest challenge is trying to get plastic squeeze bottles with lids and pump lids so they can fill them as there appears to be a shortage. If any organisation has spare they would appreciate them.

They have tweaked their gin label to say; Hand Sanitiser, Premium Craft, for those who appreciate exceptionally crafted hand sanitiser paired perfectly with social distancing and caring for others. Enjoy the aroma of gin with happy thoughts.

Manly Spirits Co. Distillery’s hand sanitiser will be available in 5L Tubs for community organisations next week.  With every 700ml bottle of spirits purchased, customers will receive a Manly Spirits Gin aroma hand sanitiser FREE of charge.  We hope this helps with the shortage out there and allows people to feel a little bit more comfortable.
